Community voice and vision are at the center of a new model for public health.
Bowman's track record in philanthropy and social advocacy spans three decades and includes developing high level strategic relationships with all sectors of influence: major philanthropists, corporations, and foundations; community based and faith based leaders; and finally governmental agencies, environmental, activist and political leaders; for the sole purpose of impacting the long term well being of the community.
Her role as strategist, collaborator and facilitator secured resources to develop critical projects impacting social change. Trained in strategic and development planning, non-profit administration, marketing, cultural competency, community development, advocacy, program development and evaluation, her innovative strategy for poverty intervention places community voice and vision at the center of a new model for public health.
A mentor and advocate, she served in Executive Level Women in Leadership Program for the Association of Theological Schools, the Emeryville Partners For Community Life, the Bay Area Foundation Advisory Council to End Homelessness, was nominated to the Oxford Roundtable, completed the Harvard University Institute for Educational Management for Senior Executive Leadership, holds a M.S. in the Health Policy and Law from UCSF/Hastings, and currently serves as Secretary/Treasurer for the Oakland Communities United for Equity and Justice.
