Dr. Tamsin’s mission is to share her deep insight into the nature of living things, in the hope of inspiring a fundamental shift in everything we do—from today’s mechanistic and ultimately fragile efficiency-based designs to resilient and adaptive Living Design in all our endeavors.

Dr. T started as a naturalist––Jane Goodall admirer, Attenborough mimic, Doctor Dolittle wannabe. She studied plant form and function in the Santa Cruz mountains; backpacked the Hawaiian Islands; obsessed about sociobiology under legendary evolutionary biologist Robert Trivers; and worked as a live-aboard marine mammal observer in the Bering Sea (as the only woman aboard a crab boat with 25 fishermen.) Her profits took her to the Amazon and the Galapagos Islands, where she mostly forgot her aversion to boats and men. She earned her doctorate in Biological Anthropology, working alternately in a genetics lab and a tent in the Ethiopian desert, monkeying with baboons. This was the most extensive genetic study of any wild primate––a model for addressing questions around altruism and social cooperation, human evolutionary history, behavior and gene flow among our own ancestors.

Several children and two decades later, she had worked as a biotech scientist, a scientific subject matter expert for GRI sustainability reporting, and an executive leadership coach for scientists making the jump to C-suite, nurtured and sold several businesses—and she couldn’t help see that nature’s deep patterns (and baboon-like behavior) carried into the boardroom.

Today Dr. T provides organizational design and innovation consulting for some of the world’s biggest and most innovative companies and serves as Dean of Geoversity’s School of Biocultural Leadership in Panama, cultivating future leaders. She serves on David Sloan Wilson’s Evolution Institute Business Action Group developing evolution-aligned business school curriculum, and is a headline thought leader for the Growth Institute––the premier education platform for mid-cap entrepreneurs.
