For those who know "Petrouchka", they know that my passion and creativity comes from my art. I am an artist because it is the first lens that I apply to the world around me. Before I spoke my first words, art was my first language. I have always reacted and interacted with color to define the context of my understanding.
I am a CLIR/Mellon FellowData Curation for Haitian Visual Art. I am working on designing a digital catalog for the Waterloo Center of the Arts Haitian art collection, the largest public collection in the world. I am also the Cultural & Community-Based Digital Curator at Grinnell College. I am currently working on a collection of paintings and sculptures inspired by the poems of my late daughter, Kaiya “Soski” Smith, and the letters which I wrote as I journeyed through grief, self discovery and rebirth.
