Dr. Jerome Mitchell’s Bio

Worked in the music industry, for over 40 years. His first band formed was called Creed. Creed gave an opening performance, for Earth, Wind and Fire, while attending, Penn State University. He graduated with a B.S. Degree from PSU. Worked as a Black Belt Inspector, while attending PSU, teaching, Okinawa kempo Karate. Moved to California in 1974. Met the late great, Master Jim Kelly and became his lead Instructor, teaching Master Kelly’s unorthodox style of Karate. Appeared in Jim Kelly’s movie, The Black Samurai, as one of his stunt men.
He was featured, in Black Stars Magazine, in a five page article, from his Los Angeles music debut.
His first recorded single was produced by, Rock and Roll Hall Of Famed Singer, Song Writer and Producer, Solomon Burke. He formed a well known band in the LA area named, Jerry Michell and The Magic Touch. They were also an opening act for the Ohio Players and KC and The Sunshine Band, at the Shrine Auditorium.
In the early 80s, he and his wife Serena Mitchell, started their own Record Label, Wings Of Faith. He produced six projects on that Label, and traveled with Fredrick K. C. Price, on his Ever Increasing Faith Crusades for 10 years.
He had the pleasure of working with Grammy Award Winning Producer and Song Writer, Freddie Perren, on his Wings Of Faith projects. Freddie and his wife Chris Perren, also wrote and produced songs on their projects. Jerome was awarded a Doctorate Of Sacred Music Degree, for his Accomplishments. He was also, Ordained as a Minister Of The Gospel, in 1995.
In the early 90s, he went into partnership, with Vickie Mack and Claude Lataillade, to form and start the GospoCentric Record Label. Which produced Gold and Platinum Artist like, Kirk Franklin, Kurt Carr and the Kurt Carr Singers, Trinity 5:7 and others.
Other Artists and Producers, that he’s had the pleasure of working with are, Rosie Grier, James Ingram, Howard McCrary, Daryl Coley, Morris Chapman, BeBe and CeCe Winans, Smitty Price, Gerald Albright, Tony Coleman, The Emotions, to name a few.
