Bio

Dr. Miranda Y. Pearson is a NC licensed public-school teacher, counselor, administrator, ordained minister, wife, and mother. Since 1996, Dr. Pearson has taught English at Goldsboro High School, in Goldsboro, NC, served as a high school counselor, as well as an Assistant Principal Intern, both at Princeton High School, in Princeton, NC and a District Administrator of At-Risk Services and Mediator for Harnett County Schools. In June of 2015, Dr. Pearson left the public-school system to start her own practice and is currently the Owner/Clinical Director of Divine Appointment Counseling Services, PA, in Benson, NC and in Goldsboro, NC. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor, a National Certified Counselor, Board Certified Coach, Certified Sex Offender Treatment Provider, Board Certified Tele mental Health Provider and a Master Addictions Counselor. Dr. Pearson earned her B.S. in English from Radford University, in Radford, VA; MA in Christian Counseling from Andersonville Baptist Seminary, in Camilla, GA; MSA in School Administration, and a MS in Counselor Education, both from East Carolina University, in Greenville, NC; and earned a doctorate in Human Services, from Capella University, with a specialization in Counseling Studies and a specialized certification in Substance Abuse Counseling and Contemporary Theory of Addictive Behavior. Her doctoral dissertation is entitled, “A Phenomenological Study of Absentee African-American Fathers.” Dr. Pearson also has theological doctorate degree from Bible Faith Global University and currently serves as an Adjunct Professor. Dr. Pearson has also authored and published her first book entitled, “Sit Your Black A.S.S. Down!
