I am an Assistant Professor at Kuwait University’s Department of Mass Communication and author of the award winning book, Muslim Women and White Femininity: Reenactment and Resistance (2018). I have won top paper awards numerous times and recently was the recipient for the Outstanding Article of the Year Award, at the National Communication Association’s (NCA) Feminist Division (November 2018) and the recipient for the Book of the Year Award, at the National Communication Association’s (NCA) International and Intercultural Division in 2019.

My specialization includes:

-Rhetoric and Cultural Studies with a focus on Muslim Women and Intersectionality.
-Whiteness Studies (and embodiment)
-Palestinian Resistance and depictions via Rhetoric (film, music, BDS)
-Intersectional Feminism
-Women and violence
-Public Relations
