Dj Monica is regarded as Sweden's first female Dj. She began dj-ing professionally 1983 and loves music, specially Funk. She’s is a royal warrant and has also hanged out with George Clinton & Bootsy Collins, they are as good as royalty - if you ask her.

Dj Monica has her musical roots in Disco and American Funk music with artists like George Clinton and Bootsy Collins plus in the R&B and Hip Hop that was developed during the 80's and 90's.

Her Swedish musical mentors are Sydney "Big Brother" Onayemi (R.I.P) and Swedish Radio profile Mats Nileskär - P3 Soul. Her favorite tune of all time is "Never Buy Texas From A Cowboy" with The Brides Of Funkenstein, produced by George Clinton.

Dj Monica has been an active member in Sister Stockholm - a Dj network with Swedish female dj's with interest in music and technology. Dj Monica has also been a member of the Dj networks Love Boat and Soul Train, the later, she was one of the founders of in 2010.

Since 1996, Dj Monica is working as a sound engineer and producer at Swedish National Radio. She has made radio documentaries about world famous American artists and has held her own radio shows. She is now working with Post Production and Radio Drama. Dj Monica has got "Stora Radio Priset" on numerous occasions for her audio skills.

Dj Monica is a member of a world wide Funk podcast (more info tba) and produces her own music.
