Bio

Liseli Akayombokwa, a.k.a Lady Light is a multi-talented creative with a unique profile background that includes experiences in the Arts, Music, Agriculture, Astrology and Legal sectors. The Lady earned a Bachelor of Law (LLB) degree from Zambian Open University in 2017. Soon after, she gathered the strength to let go of her legal career in pursuit of her creative passions, discovering her true calling was in advocating , preserving & promoting Africa's rich heritage and culture through various means and mediums.

She previously served as the Project and Communication Coordinator at Modzi Arts, an NGO based in Lusaka, Zambia. In this role, she utilized her project management and PR skills to plan events such as Art exhibitions, parties, talks etc... Curating & managing art and facilitating workshops in connection to the Arts, History, Culture and Music. Lady Light hosted the Modzi Arts Show on Power FM Radio where she facilitated discussions centered around creative expression, empowerment, awareness, lost ancient African history, intangible African history and many more.

In 2018, Lady Light participated in the Rackless Kazi all female Dj residency where she sharpened her mixing skills. This was a Modzi Arts project in partnership with the British Council's Southern African Arts program supporting Africa women in the Dj / producer industry. Since 2019, Lady Light has been her unique Dj'ing style to diverse audiences inclusive of many African genres. Her sound incorporates & celebrates indigenous percussion and a wide range of music from all over the Motherland.

Lady Light is also a contemporary jewelry designer of her very own jewelry line called Pilu Yaka (meaning "My Heart" in her native tongue SiLozi of Barotse Land). A start up aiming to use precious metals & stones from her mineral rich home, Zambia. Despite Zambia being a treasure trove of gems such as Aqua Marine, Emeralds, Gold, Copper etc, her citizens hardly have access to affordable raw materials and machinery. Non-the-less, Zambian Artists such as Sampa the Great, Theresa Ngambi & Wezi have been adorned in Pilu Yaka jewelry.

Lady Light also values & holds charity work close at heart. Having lots of love for children, she joined the Nyuma Harrison Foundation where she volunteers. The Foundation supports children with regards to accessible healthcare, shelter, education & happiness.
