Scientist Turned Full-Time Filmmaker
Harsh Mahadeshwar is a Scientist turned Full-time Filmmaker who traveled from Mumbai, India, to Lubbock, Texas, for his graduate studies at Texas Tech University. There, he identified genomic signatures that vary between species of mammals. The objective: to better understand the gene material’s evolutionary descent. After, he was able to expand upon his graduate training from basic science to applied research at biotechnology industries & institutes like Harvard Medical / Dana-Farber Cancer, MD Anderson Cancer Center, and Baylor College of Medicine.
Harsh has written and directed over 50 social media short films and music videos. Some of them have crossed over 150 million views. He is currently working on writing his first feature film, and is the producer for an A-listed Bollywood film aimed to release in late 2020.
Many of the short films Harsh has created have won notable awards such as: Best film India Film Project 2018, Best Film 48 Hour Film Project 2017 Houston, Best Film 48 Hour Film Project 2019 Indianapolis.
