Bio

Dom Jones, born and raised in Los Angeles California just 20 minutes south of Hollywood California Dominick developed a liking for entertainment at a young age. At family gatherings he was often the
center of attention, emulating Michael Jackson dance moves, using the camcorder to capture the party, or simply just being silly. As a child Dom was extremely creative, inquisitive and always challenging the odds.
His passion for film was also evident as a young kid as he would stay up all night watching VHS tapes that his mom would rent from the local Blockbuster. Seeing that Dominick took a liking to movies his mother would rent a lot of movies as a way of keeping him in the house and away from the gang violence that surrounded their south central neighborhood. Dominick would often choose staying in the house to watch Rocky or Rambo rather than riding his bike or playing curbside football with his friends from up the street. Falling in love with movies such as Do the right thing, Back to the future, The Shining, Short Circuit, Batteries Not Included, would create Dominick's desire to become a Film Director.
Dom then began working as a PA on national commercial spots, music videos, movies and reality television. He then began working as an Assistant Director, it was here that he was able to take advantage of his situation and polish his directing skills shadowing legendary directors such as Alfonso Cuaron, Sam Beyer, Chris Robinson and so many more. On one project Dominick shadowed Alfonso Cuaron and his Dp Chive Bourne with a Canon 5D Camera and his only job was to mimic the frames that Alfonso and Chive created. This experience pushed Dom to buy a camera and start to direct and shoot music video. After his work caught a few eyes he was asked to direct a music video which featured Nipsey Hussle, this opened the door for him to submit treatments through music video commissioners for artist such as Lizzo, Christian Combs, BJ The Chicago Kid and others.
During the summer of 2020 he wrote and directed his first narrative film “Breaking News” which will debut in festivals fall 2021.
