Building a cheaper, faster and cleaner alternative to the Panama Canal for shipping containers.
Summary:
90% of trade goes by sea; mostly between the North Atlantic and North Pacific. However, only 3% can go directly between them using the Panama Canal because of its capacity limits; and there is always a 2 - 12 day wait to cross.
Zergratran is building a transshipment hub across northern Colombia to transfer shipping containers between the north Pacific and North Atlantic oceans in minutes using an underground tunnel and magnetic levitation (Maglev), Puerto Internacional Las Americas (PILA). Regional vessels will speed them on their way to the US east coast ports and Europe.
PILA will address the largest bottleneck in the global shipping system, transferring containers between the North Atlantic and North Pacific routes. The Panama Canal is great but can only handle about 3% of trade volume and trade is rapidly increasing. In contrast, about 15% goes through the Suez Canal.
PILA will also address the increasing global port congestion, fill the ships returning to Asia 60% empty, and significantly impact Latin America.
Amazing project with astronomical potential returns! Winner in SDG category 9 (Industry, Innovation & Infrastructure) at the ESG World Summit & Grit Awards in Singapore on July 23rd. Learn more on our website and sign up for early notification of our upcoming initial public offering (IPO):
