Adam Stubbs is an abstract painter whose paintings are characterized by deep curiosity about the creative process itself. In his large abstract canvases, he is particularly interested in how a painting is made by meditating on the contrast of non-existence and existence. Vigorously worked services are built up and reworked to create compositions that hang in a tenuous equilibrium, with elements in states of becoming, existing, and decay all at the same time.
