Desiree’s documentary photography is currently being showcased in the New Mexico Museum of Indian Arts and Culture in Santa Fe, NM at the Beyond Standing Rock exhibit. She has worked with Firestarter Films as an associate producer, camera operator and investigative journalist on the feature-length documentary Akicita: The Battle of Standing Rock, which premiered at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival. Desiree hosted and produced First Foods for 2 years, an Indigenous Food Culture show by and for Native people.
She was part of the organizing body for Boulder Valley Indigenous People’s Day 2019, which focused heavily on #MMIWG2S, an epidemic that has taken the lives of so many Native women, girls, and two spirits.
