Professor at Northwestern with research in AI, ML and data science. Also Director, Master of Science in Analytics and of Center for Deep Learning. MLOps are my latest interest. Also a pretty successful entrepreneur; current gig a software startup in MLOps.
I am a professor at Northwestern University, Department of Industrial Engineering and Management Sciences. I am also Founding Director, Master of Science in Analytics and Director, Center for Deep Learning. From this it is clear that I know artificial intelligence, machine learning, deep learning and analytics (modeling, methodologies, theoretical results). Yes, I understand and can come up with new mathematical equations, but I can also code them up if I can only find time to do it. Obviously, python is my language of choice, but I am also a good coder in scala and C++ (I used be doing a lot of coding in C and C++ back in my old days).
In the last one year I have developed keen interest and expertise in MLOps, including Kubernetes, Kubeflow and related aspects.
I can talk the language of finance, manufacturing, insurance, sports, airlines, and bioinformatics due to the numerous projects that I lead in these industries.
I also consider myself a successful entrepreneur (not serial). I have recently sold a company with more than 150 data scientists. I am now onto my next gig with a software company focusing on MLOps.
I love technology and follow it closely, especially the aspects related to artificial intelligence. I have a hard time holding back on buying all sort of gadgets and devices. Coming up with an artificial intelligence or machine learning algorithm that works well in practice, fixing a bug in my code, or exploring a new gadget are always a great satisfaction.
