“As I pulled the red cable from the ignition, the fiery 120cc engine between my legs came to a halt. There was silence. Across in the green fields was a short man with a pointed rice hat walking alongside a mammoth ox pulling a farmer’s cart. In the air, there was a soft taste of salt from the nearby ocean combined with a strong scent of manure from the animals nearby.

The borders of the clouds were perfectly chiseled into the backdrop of the never-ending bright blue skies above. And as the ox moved closer with its cart, I could begin to hear its faint footsteps. The massive wooden wheels of the cart pushed through mud and grass, becoming a part of the subtle orchestra of everyday life.

A motorbike whizzed past me, and another. I looked back and gazed at the comedically perched drivers continuing down the black tarmac, which was juxtaposed with the lush fields all around.”
