I’m an inveterate traveller and sound recordist…
I started travelling aged sixteen when I hitch-hiked to Greece from London during a school summer holiday. After leaving school, aged 19, I, set out from the UK to travel along the Silk Routes to China and from there to Australia. But I only made it as far as Afghanistan. Since then I’ve been filling in the gaps by travelling in and through the ’Stans, China, Myanmar, India and more recently Pakistan. My love of Islamic & Persian art, architecture and culture has taken me through North Africa, the Levant and some Middle Easter countries.
Now, after working in the corporate world (for fifteen long years) I’ve returned to what drives me forward the most: recording sounds, producing podcasts, taking photographs and travel. My website: travelwornsatchel.com has a collection of sounds and photographs from some of travels.
