Dave is the Head of West Coast Technology Banking for Morgan Stanley. With over twenty years of investment banking experience, Dave has advised some of the most disruptive technology companies on their financial and strategic objectives. Dave has had the privilege of advising on key transactions including the Direct Listings for Palantir and Slack and IPOs for Salesforce.com, NetScreen Technologies, Palo Alto Networks, FireEye, Fortinet, ForeScout, SendGrid, Sailpoint, Barracuda Networks, AVG, Tableau Software, Apigee, SecureWorks, Zscaler, Avast, DocuSign, ZoomInfo, McAfee and C3.ai. He has also advised on mergers and acquisitions transactions including the $1.7bn sale of J.D. Edwards to PeopleSoft, $7.7bn sale of McAfee to Intel, the $1.3bn sale of AVG to Avast, the $1bn acquisition of Mandiant by FireEye, the $625mm sale of Apigee to Google, the sale of iSight Partners to FireEye, the $240mm sale of Guidance Software to OpenText, the $1bn sale of Avigilon to Motorola, the $1.4bn sale of Cylance to Blackberry, Broadcom’s $10.7bn acquisition of Symantec Enterprise, the $2.1bn sale of RSA to Symphony Technology Group and the sale of Rancher Labs to SUSE Linux. Dave has advised leading public software companies on financing transactions including the $2bn convertible notes offering for Palo Alto Networks, $750mm convertible notes offering for Slack Technologies, $1bn convertible notes offering for Okta, $650mm convertible notes offering for Five9, $500mm convertible notes offering for Cyber-Ark, $1bn convertible notes offering for Salesforce.com in 2013, the $920mm convertible notes offering for FireEye in 2015, Symantec's $1.1bn inaugural investment grade notes offering and follow-on equity transactions for SeeBeyond Technology Corporation, Palo Alto Networks, FireEye, Imperva and Tableau Software. On the private financing side, Dave served as lead placement agent on DocuSign's $85mm and ForeScout's $76mm financing round.
