My Story:
Cubanbrown, a Canadian-born composer, singer and songwriter with south Asian roots, draws his creative influences from his experiences in traveling the world. After leaving his home in search of truth and meaning, he experienced firsthand the raw edge of daily life in different countries. While visiting one strange place, these ever-present influences drove him to begin writing songs. For many of the people he had met abroad, there was no outlet, no way to speak out about the injustice and anguish they experienced.
During a trip to Cuba, creative inspiration led him into a studio to record the track, “You & Marijuana”, written months earlier while on the road. The vibe of the local culture resonated with him, and Cubanbrown was born.
