Corey Jaskolski is a National Geographic Fellow, explorer, and entrepreneur. Leveraging his expertise in deep AI and sensors, Corey has developed and deployed technologies for exploration and conservation missions in some of the world’s most beautiful and unforgiving environments.
As founder and CEO of Synthetaic, the leading synthetic data company, Jaskolski oversees the growth of high-quality data that unlocks impossible AI. No matter the size of an initial sample, Synthetaic closes the statistical gaps in AI training data using a novel, generative approach.
Jaskolski's work with National Geographic has taken him to all seven continents on projects like scuba diving among the icebergs in Antarctica, descending 12,500 feet below the ocean’s surface in a three-person submarine to explore the Titanic, and leading a helicopter-based effort to produce a high resolution aerial LIDAR map of the Nepalese side of Everest. His work often appears in National Geographic Magazine, online, in television specials on PBS and the National Geographic Channels, in scientific journals, and in international magazines.
Jaskolski has also led technical projects for clients including NASA, the US Special Forces (SOCOM), Defense Advanced Research Agency (DARPA), and many US Army and Navy Research Laboratories.
Corey is the recipient of the 2020 Rolex National Geographic Explorer of the Year Award for his past and current accomplishments and innovations to advance conservation, anti-poaching security, and exploration.
Beyond his explorer and entrepreneurial work, Jaskolski serves as a member of the board of directors at the Milwaukee Public Museum.
