The two time winner of CEO Global Africa's Most Influential Women in Business and Government Continental Award and heralded as one of Africa’s top 40 most powerful and influential voices by the AWP Network, Comfort Avunze Sakoma is a leading voice in business and policy in Africa.
In 2020, Comfort was appointed as a distinguished member of the Niger State Economic Advisory Board, the highest economic policy advisory body in Niger State, Nigeria. Sakoma has trained, coached and consulted for more than 20,000 entrepreneurs globally. Silicon Valley’s AngelHack listed Comfort as 1 of 15 Female Entrepreneurs Disrupting The Status Quo globally.
Comfort co-authored a special report for the Economic Policy Forum, a global alliance of think tanks dedicated to collaborative, results-oriented research on sustainability and growth challenges faced by emerging economies. Her submission titled, Mobilising Private Capital for Green Energy Investments in Nigeria, aims to find potential linkages between private capital, in all its forms, and climate action projects.
She has delivered several keynote address and policy recommendations for organization around the world.
Comfort was a board member of the now defunct U.S.-Africa Chamber of Commerce in Washington, D.C. through which she championed US- Africa trade. She is a mentor for Cherie Blair Foundation for Women and a mentor/partner for the African Entrepreneurship Award by BMCE Bank of Africa through which she identifies businesses to receive scale up funding.
Comfort completed her B.A. in Political Science & African Studies at the University of Toronto and completed the Publishing Course at Yale University School of Management where she was awarded the Innovative Leader Scholarship.
