Filmmaker. Sundance, SxSW alum.
Clay Liford is a graduate of the University of Texas film program. He has written and directed four features to date, including the festival hits, “Slash” (SxSW 2016), "Wuss" (SxSW 2011, AFI 2011 Audience Award Winner) and "Earthling" (SxSW 2010). His comedy short, "My Mom Smokes Weed", has played over forty festivals, including the 2010 Sundance Film Festival. As a director of photography, Clay has shot twenty five features, including the award winning films "St. Nick" (SxSW 2009) and "Gayby" (SxSW 2012).
With four projects officially selected for IFP Film Week (as well as Film Independent Fast Track), he is currently in development on multiple projects for TV and film.
Clay has taught film for over 7 years at both Texas State University, The University of Texas, and Austin Community College. He may be engaged as a mentor and advisor, and is embarking upon a new venture in Virtual Film School.
