I work for a startup called cLabs(https://clabs.co/careers) that’s building Celo(Celo.org). Celo is an open mobile-first blockchain platform with a mission to create conditions of property for everyone. We are a group of mission-driven people, obsessed about bringing financial inclusion. Celo’s mission is a pretty fantastic and ambitious one if you ask me and it’s the reason for me to be in Berlin, Germany at the moment to build, grow, and lead the local Berlin(EU) team(Yes, we are hiring!). I made my personal mission to stick around in the tech industry to help URMs esp, women in tech find their voice, unique purpose, recognition and be strong authentic leaders we need for the better world, really. Empowering DEI is everyone’s responsibility, and just be nice and decent to others at work, as simple as that. A bit about me, I’m a mom to a happy, smart, and kind preteen boy and a helplessly cute and funny, little Beagle dog, Bailey. Just like everyone, I’m tired of being stuck in my apartment so looking soooo forward to the days I can go out and travel again. I like eating yummy food, dark chocolate, ice cream, and gummy bears. Love watching movies while drinking Pinot Noir so I’m a typical couch potato although I’m told that I look quite sporty, so looks can fool you, you know. I miss my friends and hanging out with my friends who adore me for what I am. I’d swear a lot like A LOT more if I didn’t care about my job, my son, and what society thinks of me. Sigh.
