Bio

Hi, I’m Cecilia!

Currently, I’m finishing up my honours thesis as a Westbrook Scholar at the University of British Columbia. For my research I investigate civic engagement in a social media era. The past two years, I’ve had the honour of managing the UBC Iona Journal of Economics. Within the past year, I’ve been furthering youth civic engagement as a World Economic Forum Global Shaper (Vancouver) and advancing equity, diversity, and inclusion for conservation efforts as a Board Director at CPAWS BC. I also volunteer with the diversity council at the Greater Vancouver Board of Trade.

Previously, I’ve worked as an economic policy analyst with the Canadian government on post Covid economic recovery and as a researcher within the strategic department of the government’s HR to assess diversity and inclusion for the public service’s employment objectives.

Outside of work and school, I’m an avid reader and writer. Find me either running, hiking, or curled up with a book :-)
