About BmoreArt: Baltimore’s contemporary art and culture publication, both online and print. Read online daily and subscribe for our biannual print journal. Includes reviews, profiles, and photo essays, as well as an arts events calendar, calls for entry, Zoom talks, and online resource guide. Read our FAQ page for the best way to pitch to our team.
About Me: I ask a lot of questions. I write regularly about artist, museum, and material culture, with an emphasis on context and subtext in the art world. I’m interested in artists’ strategies for survival and success, and the conundrum that is the art market. Art does not exist in a vacuum.
BmoreArt’s print journals are an extension of my studio practice, but realized on a community scale. Each one is a collaborative work of art and engages with Baltimore’s cultural landscape around a specific theme or topic. Past issues include power, legacy, beauty, and home.
I am a 2019 Rabkin Art Writers Grantee and have written for publications like Hyperallergic, Vulture: New York Magazine, Burnaway, Art Papers, ARTnews, and Baltimore Magazine.
I have an MFA from MICA and previously taught at Johns Hopkins, MICA, UMBC, and Towson U until BmoreArt became a full-time gig, but I am available for lectures, panel discussions, podcasts, and speaking engagements.
