Butter : On The One
Inside the music world, a player can be pigeonholed by what style of music he plays and never considered a candidate to participate in other music genres. For ONE talent, ONE genre of music just wasn’t enough. He’s the New York based music producer, drummer, songwriter, actor, and video director with ONE name: BUTTER.
He developed his own unique style that combines elements of gritty urban hip-hop, soulful R&B with jazz and rock becoming a. multidiscipline music master. His musical education started from his childhood days in the boroughs of New York City, experiencing the emerging hip-hop scene in the ’80s. At an early age, he also embraced the distinct sounds of Jazz, Drums and the Theater. Having studied music in high school and the prestigious Berklee College Of Music, he mastered the urban sonic and took on several projects at various studios throughout New York City (Electric Lady,Fluid), enhancing his base ever expanding his musical knowledge into producing, performing & consulting. His extensive client list includes Grammy-winning artists ‪Roy Hargrove‬, Take 6, GZA and ‪Lalah Hathaway‬.
Butter has over 30 years experience producing with DigiDesigns ProTools and a full mastery of Reason, Garageband and other various audio-processing applications. He worked with legendary musicians/composers ‪Dizzy Gillespie‬ and ‪Lionel Hampton‬ as a teen while working to create an album for East West Records. Butter also collaborated with Wesley Snipes to score "Wesley Snipes Presents Masters of the Martial Arts" for the TNT network. Butter has been engulfed in the music business from having 2 publishing deals to being an A&R with a Subsidiary label of Universal. His consulting clients include several Artist (including Love & Hiphop), Berklee College Of Music professors & formerly the Preforming Rights Organization Sesac.
He is constantly experimenting with new sounds, new media, new artists eager to bring more music to the public via his “Bread & Butter Productions” Butter is always on the ONE.
