Official Writer Bio:
An off-beat comedic voice, Brendan has diversified his portfolio with writing work on several scripted single-camera cable comedies as well as teen dramedy, sketch, animation, kids multi-cam sitcom, variety, awards, political satire, and theater. His experience with small cable and digital series has given him the opportunity to be integrally involved in the writing, production and editing of several series, and adaptable to fast schedules and low budgets. He was mentored by Donick Cary, who gave him his start in TV on two Comedy Central series, which brought him to LA from New York where he studied playwriting at Marymount Manhattan College and worked in NY theater. Other experience includes growing up gay with a straight identical twin brother and a lesbian sister (now non-binary), waiting until age 32 to come out, and achieving the employment triple crown: Old Navy, Gap, and Banana Republic. His pilots and plays have reached semi-finals at the prestigious Sundance TV Lab twice and The Eugene O'Neill National Playwrights Conference.
He can be seen acting alongside Ali Wentworth and a slew of A-list guest stars (sharing the screen with the likes of Julianne Moore, Gwyneth Paltrow, and a sloth) in the Pop network’s scripted series Nightcap for which he also served as writer/producer for both seasons (streaming on Hulu). Recent writing experience includes a new 40 episode high school dramedy for Facebook called Turnt (it lives up to the title, we hope), a political comedy series reboot of Weekend at Bernie's, a Disney-style kids multi-cam, a queer music/comedy variety show pilot for TBS, and an interactive series for Eko.
