Roger better known in the boxing world as “Roger The Dodger” learned his craft very well. Winning the National AAU boxing championship in 1978, he continued his career in the United States Air Force. In completing his four years in the service, Roger had captured every boxing title known in every branch of the service. In 1978 he turned Pro and before retiring in 1982, “Roger The Dodger had been ranked #2 in the world WBA in the Jr middleweight division, compiling a record of 26 wins and one lost. Not only was Roger a student of the game, he was a teacher as well. He was the sole inspiration to his younger brother, Ray Leonard. Yes the infamous Sugar Ray Leonard.
