I am on a mission to see women be released from prison reenter successfully and embrace their new freedom from the inside out!!
I am a Charleston native and a survivor of domestic violence and childhood sexual abuse. After facing many personal challenges and becoming a single mother of 4 at the age of 22 I found myself in a downward spiral of criminal behavior and eventually found myself in prison. Upon my release, it was almost impossible to find gainful employment being a convicted felon. Emotionally I felt as though I couldn’t make it but the fighter in me reminded me that I could and started Unchained! Unchained is a private organization that encourages family reunification and Reentry success for women after prison. I share the tools I used to be successful after incarceration and how my family and I went from being estranged to embracing the family unit with love as a whole. January 1,2022, I opened H.E.R Chic Boutique where women can shop for new or gently used clothing after incarceration at no charge. We also have a wide variety of personal hygiene and intimate apparel to help eliminate challenges faced upon release that help them to look good so they can feel good!!
I volunteer my time in the South Carolina State prisons hosting Reentry classes for offenders preparing for release within 90days. We provide personal hygiene items once they are released. Unchained is personally funded and donations have helped so many women and men get a fresh start after prison.

After many failed job opportunities I ventured into construction as a day laborer and worked my way to my current position of Construction Superintendent. I went from victim to victor, from homeless to homeowner, from jobless to having a career that I am excelling in beyond my own expectations. I am a thriving African American female construction superintendent ready to empower you!
