Based in Minneapolis/St. Paul, Bakarii brings a young and refreshing energy to the music scene. His eclectic background includes growing up overseas and calling many countries such as France, Spain, and more “home”. The result is a unique sound influenced by a global variety of genres and artists, ranging from Hip Hop and R&B all the way to Afrobeat and Afrofusion. In addition to Bakarii’s solo music career, he also is a co-founder of the Minneapolis/St. Paul media collective: Ozone Creations. With co-founders Jean-Paul Akwa, Obiora Obikwelu, and Chinwe Jideofor, they are making the Twin Cities the cultural epicenter for Afrofusion music and culture. The mission is to promote cultural importance, positivity and authenticity through the medium of music.
