🐆⚜️What I am?⚜️🐆
I’m a Black Feminist Ecocritic—writing, researching, and teaching at the intersection of Black feminist theory and environmental thought. I hold a PhD in African American Studies from Northwestern University (call me Docta!👩🏾🎓), an MA in American Studies from Purdue University, & a BA from Barnard College.
🌙⚜️What I’m up to?⚜️🌙
In addition to Professor-ing at various institutions in the past & present (Barnard, Purdue, Northwestern, & Cornell), I’m the founder of Ask An Amazon an E-learning hub where I lecture, teach, design educational tools, offer consulting services, and curate community events that serve Black Feminist Fuel for Sustainable Futures.
🦒⚜️What to ‘Ask An Amazon’ about?⚜️🦒
My writing, teaching, lectures, & research interweave Black Feminism, Ecology, Art & Literature, Environmentalism, Environmental Justice, Ecofeminism, Climate Justice, Ecocriticism, Spirituality, African Traditional Religions, Environmental Humanities, & Intersectionality. I’m too intense of an Octavia Butler scholar to choose just one decorative quote, so if you ask me about her, prepare for it to get extra real 👩🏾🏫.
I also help folks navigate graduate school in general & navigate PhD programs specifically. I teach folks grant writing & fellowship writing skills to secure funds for academic & creative research. Above all, I’m most invested in helping people create balanced Health & Wellness as writers, researchers, & scholars.
