Bio

Ardeshir Farah, a guitarist, composer, arranger, and producer originally from Iran, has been recording and performing with Jorge Strunz since 1979 as the Grammy nominee guitar duo Strunz & Farah after Strunz terminated his four albums contract with Capitol Records. Jorge Strunz was the leader of the Jazz Fusion group Caldera.
Strunz & Farah are the innovators of an entirely new expression for the acoustic guitar. Well ahead of their time they created an original style that now is widely influential. Their music is highly virtuosic, rhythmic, and improvisation-rich original compositions, inspiring fans and many guitarists worldwide. Their meeting in 1979 in Los Angeles, where they are based, marked the first time that Latin American and Middle Eastern music, along with other elements including Jazz, came together on the guitar. They remain the undisputed masters of the style they created.
Their album Primal Magic was number one on Billboard’s World Music Chart for twelve weeks. Their following album Americas was nominated for a Grammy for “The Best World Music Album of the Year”. They have performed close to 3000 concerts in the USA, Canada, Central and South America, Europe and Asia, and are almost finished with their 21st album. Ardeshir has also recorded and performed with almost all of the famous Persian Singers who migrated to USA after the Iranian revolution in 1979.
