I’m Antoinette Tuff, people from around the world call me an accidental hostage negotiator and a hero. On August 20, 2013 in Atlanta, GA, I was able to use my "Tuff Tactics" to convince an armed gunman, who came into the elementary school to kill everyone and then kill himself, to surrender his AK-47 and over 500 rounds of ammo to me.

My book, PREPARED for a PURPOSE, earned high reviews, became an international best seller and was the inspiration for the Lifetime movie, Faith Under Fire, which starred Toni Braxton.

Never did I think that I would become a hero, saving more than 1,000 lives, a best-selling author, speaker, international celebrity, expert on community safety and cultural diversity. Being held hostage has allowed me to create Diversity, Inclusion and Psychological Safety (DIPS) programs for corporations, nonprofits, organizations and schools.
