Anna Novakov is a Serbian-American designer, writer and perfumer whose practice currently focuses on the transitory modalities of the olfactory and tactile arts. Trained in textile design at Parsons and Central St. Martins, Novakov divides her time between writing screenplays, creating textiles and body adornments for Mala Igla and composing perfumes for RoqRaum - her fragrance brand. This ambitious, interdisciplinary artistic practice has resulted in numerous recent and upcoming projects including: Red Leather (An Olfactory Play about 1960s Belgrade) presented at the Zentrum für Kunst und Urbanistik, Berlin, Scorched Earth (a curatorial project about climate change) at Fringe Arts Bath, Inhale (Jumbotron installation) Zaziots, Times Square, New York, Smelling Utopia (olfactory installation) Bauhaus Dessau and Urban Rewilding (Theater Production), Pilotenkueche, Leipzig.
