Bio
My parents are professional agronomists, and from an early age they taught me how to grow nutritious and tasty vegetables and fruits in our garden in southern Russia. They taught me how to take care of our fertile soil. This is how the family trade has influenced my today’s mission - to educate the public about the importance of soil health for growing quality food, for maintaining healthy ecosystems and for reducing harmful greenhouse gases.
I teach and conduct research on soil contamination at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette where I created The Delta Urban Soils Lab offering soil testing services for small production farms, gardeners and homeowners across country.
