My name is Anielle Franco, I am from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. I was born and raised in favela da Maré. I have a bachelor´s degree in Journalism and English from North Carolina Central University, a bachelor and license degree in English Literature from the State University of Rio de Janeiro, a master degree in Journalism and English from Florida A&M University, and I am currently a master student in a Federal University in Rio de Janeiro on Ethnic-Racial Relations. I have recently published my first book called Letters to Marielle and I am now working on Marielle´s Biography to be launched soon. Besides that, I have some important participation in many other books, including Angela Davis´autobiography. Nowadays, I work as a teacher, speaker, racial consultant, and writer. I write weekly for an electronic newspaper in Brazil and monthly for magazines.
