Almost three decades ago, Angela Dean established Deanzign Designer Collections in the early 1980's as a retail store on the world famous Melrose Ave. After closing the store, Angela went into custom design for the music and entertainment business. Angela Dean has been the go-to fashion designer for some of the most famous and powerful women in the world. From Madonna to Katy Perry, Oprah Winfrey to Halle Berry, Angela’s creations have adorned magazine covers, concert stages and Oscar and Grammy red carpets. Her success is grounded in her innate understanding of unique body types of women. Her designs accentuate the best attributes of those various body types.

Angela’s work first came to international recognition in 1987 with her original design of Madonna’s iconic bullet bra corset that launched her career, sparking a trend of wearing lingerie as outerwear that was quickly adapted by other fashion houses. Her designs became popular among the great song divas Natalie Cole, Nancy Wilson, Patti Labelle, Chaka Khan, Anita Baker, and Mary J. Blige. Other notable clients include Paris Hilton, Queen Latifah, and Jada Pinkett Smith among many others.

“Celebrities are not different from the rest of us in their frustration of finding clothes that fit them well,” explains Angela. “Helping real women with real bodies find solutions that respond to their needs is the source of my passion and inspiration. It is not about striving for a beautiful image in a fashion magazine that nobody can reach. My work brings out the beauty that lies in all women no matter what size they are.”

Due to Angela's extensive experience in lingerie, she decided to create Shaped by an Angel shapewear. She recognized that the shapers in the market place did not fit properly, so she created a revolutionary shapewear line designed for the 5 most common body types. The shapers are made with post surgical compression fabric that has antimicrobial fibers that prevents bacteria and keeps you cool and fresh. The shapers are engineered with panels that flatten the abdomen, lift the buddocks and accentuate the waist. Shaped by an Angel shapewear merges new technology with innovative design and fit to give a woman a range of new possibilities. Shaped by an Angel was featured on the Queen Latifah show as the new shapewear line to rival competitors Spanx and Maidenform.
