Dr Sauer is an Associate Professor, Advanced Heart Failure Therapies & Cardiac Transplantation at The University of Kansas Health System. He leads clinical trials and investigations into heart failure device therapies and remote monitoring and telemedicine technology. He is on steering and/or advisory board/committees for industry leaders for the field including Abbott, Boston Scientific, Medtronic, Edwards. He is a proven program builder, demonstrated leader, and highly cited author. He also serves as Associate Editor for Journal of Cardiac Failure, the official journal of the Heart Failure Society of America and also as co-founder of HFLeadership.org—a grassroots organization focused on raising up local leaders innovating heart failure therapies, investigation, and education.
