Anand is an actor, producer, and a software engineer. Anand recently appeared on the season finale of Divorce on HBO. He also appeared in a feature film, Prince of Bollywood, on Amazon. On the theater side he was the first South Asian in NYC to play lead, Dr. Frankenstein, in AlphaNYC Theater’s production of “Frankenstein: The Radio Play” at the Roebuck Theater, Times Square Arts Center.
Some of Anand’s theater credits include performing sketch comedy at Carolines on Broadway, playing lead for Post Office by Rabindranath Tagore at the 2015 South Asian International Performing Arts Festival, and playing Friar in a Bollywood rendition of Romeo & Juliet.
Anand is humbled by having the opportunity to act in numerous short films. In 2016, the short film he was in, Vanilla, was screened at the Asian American International Film Festival. He also acted in Prayer, which was shown at the Mumbai International Shorts Festival.
On the producing side, he was an executive producer of an award winning comedy web series, Swiped to Death, that explores the messy realities of online dating, told from both male and female perspectives. Anand was also a consulting producer for Hypokrit Theater’s staged production of Choker Bali/Devdas at The Theater for the New City.
