Amy is an internationally recognized, award-winning registered dietitian nutritionist, media personality, speaker, nutrition consultant, and writer.
As a longtime vegetarian and now pescatarian RDN, Amy's focus is in plant-based eating. She also has expertise in weight management, healthy aging, and general nutrition.
Amy is a highly regarded freelance nutrition writer and is one of the most-quoted media dietitians in the country. She has completed and written more than 2,000 combined media interviews and freelance articles for top-tier media outlets.
As a top-tier media RD, Amy has been interviewed by hundreds of media outlets, including U.S. News & World Report, New York Post, Self.com, Shape, Prevention, Women's Health, and EverydayHealth.com. Her on-air portfolio includes CBS Up to the Minute, CBS Power Up Your Health, NBC News, and the Associated Press.
Before Amy went back to school to become a dietitian, she held nutrition and health editor positions at Health, Prevention, Weight Watchers Magazine, WeightWatchers.com, Parents, and American Baby.
She enjoys creating healthy recipes, several of which have appeared in The Runner's World Vegetarian Cookbook, The MIND Diet, Runner's World Meals on the Run, and The Runner's World Cookbook. Amy also publishes her favorite recipes on her personal blog, Amy's Eat List.
Amy shares her media knowledge by offering media coaching services to other RDNs, health professionals, and freelance writers. She also co-runs the Master the Media e-course, which teaches RDNs, health care and public health professionals how to get their names in the news.
In addition to speaking on panels and presenting to companies, Amy serves as a consultant and spokesperson to food- and nutrition-focused brands and commodity boards—helping to create effective media messaging, conducting interviews, and developing recipes.
To obtain her education in nutrition, Amy completed her Dietetic Internship at Utah State University and her Didactic Program in Dietetics at New York University.
Additionally, Amy holds a Bachelor of Science in Journalism and a Bachelor of Arts in Visual Art Studies from the University of Florida, as well as a Master of Science in Journalism from Northwestern University.
