i love you. i mean it. and i love connecting the poetic dots of life. my band, founded in 2000, is a drums and piano duo called the dresden dolls. we made a lot of beautiful noise.

i’ve toured the world countless times and have slept on lots of couches, met a lot of people, and done a lot of random things, made a lot of art, and learned a lot from my many co-travelers and many trip-ups.

in 2013 i gave a TED talk about shame, art and asking that’s had 20 million views. then i wrote a best-selling book about the concepts in the talk called “the art of asking: how i learned to stop worrying and let people help” in 2014.

i’m now in new zealand by accident. all good, because i’m funded by 10,000+ patrons who fund my inpulsive art, life and output.
