Amanda Coulson is the co-founder of TERN, a new Nassau-based gallery operated by three Caribbean women whose aim is to support Bahamian and Caribbean artists in telling their own stories the global stage. Amanda has worked for three decades as a scholar, critic, curator and cultural producer on both sides of the Atlantic: as a writer and critic for various art journals from 1998-2005; the co-founder of VOLTA art fairs from 2005-12; and the Executive Director of the National Art Gallery of The Bahamas (NAGB), from 2011-2021. Her passion is bringing awareness to the contemporary Caribbean art scene through collaborative projects and in building strong inter-island and international networks. She served on the Davidoff Art Initiative (now the Caribbean Art Initiative) Board from 2012-2018, and served on the Board of the Museums Association of the Caribbean (MAC) from 2019-2021.
