As the daughter and granddaughter of immigrants, and the great-granddaughter of a well-known poet #xuzhimo and a female leader of China #zhangyouyi, my mission is to tell stories truthfully and authentically, but with poise and my unique voice. I’ve always known my passions, but this year, I’ve realized my commitment to telling universal and relatable stories that take place in specific worlds and time periods. I am committed to telling character-driven stories that need to be told, of Asian and Asian-American women, and women from around the world.
