Ali Jamal, is the chief executive officer of Stablegold Hospitality, a real estate investment company that specializes in affordable accommodations for low/no income individuals and families. Ali decided to do something out-of-the-box for the hotel industry and took a page from Wal-Mart, placing focus on volume vs. room rates. This ingenuity has developed a unique business model that allows him to profitably serve a demographic most businesses shy away from and in doing so he performs a service for the entire community by saving and re-purposing buildings that might otherwise remain vacant. What started in 2011 as one rundown and shutdown hotel is now a thriving business, which includes approximately $50 million in assets under management, 1500 rental units – consisting of 12 independently operated extended stay hotels and single family residential housing - and employs more than 150 people across the United States of America. Stablegold has been selected as the number one most Innovative Urban Development companies in the world by Fast Company Magazine for its innovative approach to affordable housing.
Prior to his role with Stablegold; Ali was the Director of Sales and Business Development, Western Canada for the Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters, Canada's largest trade and industry association representing a network of over 25,000 manufacturing/exporting companies across the country.
He assisted the Burnaby Board of Trade between 2005-2008 to become one of the fastest growing Chambers of Commerce in Canada in his role as the Manager of Membership Development. From 2008-2010, Ali also helped the BC Division of the Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters to triple its membership and solidify its standing as the strongest voice for manufacturing and exporting in British Columbia.
Additionally, Ali has an Executive MBA from Northeastern University and has earned a certificate from the Stanford Business School Executive Program in Leadership.
Ali currently participates in a non profit board role for Shelters to Shutters, he is a Founding Member of the Forbes Real Estate Council, a contributing writer for the Atlanta Business Chronicle Leadership Trust and is presently serving as the Lead for the Southeastern United States, Ismaili Professionals Network (IPN). Ali is also an active peer advisory board member of both the Young Presidents Organization (YPO) and Vistage.
