Bio
Alicia is a WaterWoman. She is the founder of 3 startups, and has over 30 years of experience in philanthropy, climate change, sustainability, public policy along with community development along with engagement of stakeholders.
Her ability to collaborate with global stakeholders has provided insight to developing the WaterRising Institute. WaterRising Institute is a women led, non-profit company that accelerates real-time and sustainable technologies for state-of-the art, water quality monitoring and alert systems.
Our goal is for Detroit to become the center of innovative technology and systems for monitoring and protecting water quality and public health. Long term, scaling the system throughout the Great Lakes region, the US, and internationally.
Alicia is involved with many initiatives including: WaterWomen Initiative, Women4Climate and UN Global Compact Leaders. Her most important role is the mother of 4 daughters and ensuring her daughters children have access to healthy safe water.
