Soulaan/Soula people is another term for AA’s (African American ; descendants of American slaves). Soul(African American)(Nation)
Synonymous for: FBA, ADOS

The term Soulaan was established by a community of AA online to refer to Afro American "Soul" derived from parts of Black Culture, and by extension become a new form of identity for Black Americans who descend from American Freedmen and African enslaved.

GOAL ✅ To forge a unique name for our ethnicity that pays homage to the lineage and culture we established and built from the ground up in America

❓Frustrated about erasure and difficulty specificying our unique plight, journey and contributions in US?

✅While terms like Black American and Afro/African American are widely accepted they are also used by other Afro Americans that typically differ in cultural experience.

✅Since “African American” is criticized as "too vague"—as the term also applies to Continental Africans, Afro Caribbean, Afro Latinos and others across the African Diaspora who move to America and lack African American enslaved ancestry; Soulaa / Soulaan— can help Afro Americans establish ethnic and cultural specificity which can bring celebration to our unique heritage!
