Ajada Reigns, formally known as Samira Gibson, was born in New York City to a musically inclined family. Ajada's calling in the world of music was planted in her early years of singing in church, later to be nurtured. She shaped her unique style of singing with the training she received from the Harlem School of Arts, and the Professional Performing Arts High School in New York City, where she learned to sing in four different languages. Ajada is a three time winner at the world famous Apollo Theater. Her inspirations are Stevie Wonder, Donny Hathaway, Jill Scott, Erykah Badu, Lauryn Hill, India Arie, Beyonce Knowles and more. With her powerful, unique vocals and style that cannot be compared Ajada Reigns has performed for and with household names such as, Dr. Martin Luther King II., Donnie McClurkin, Cece Winans, Mary J. Blige, Elle Varner, Chaka Khan, Ashford & Simpson, Ben Vareen, Queen Latifah, Vic Mensa, Plies, and many more. Ajada Reigns has also performed as a vocalist and actress in several musical productions including off Broadway play, “Your Arms Are Too Short to Box With God,” featuring Dr. Cissy Houston. Noted for her stage presence, style, and positivity, many can agree with Grammy-nominated artist, Major, when he says, “The world needs what she brings.”

When she’s not performing, Ajada can be found vocal & performance coaching, learning and teaching ASL or creative directing photo shoots / music videos. Simply put, Ajada Reigns is gifted, authentic and passionate.
