My name is Angelica Valadez, “Aikutzi,” in the native language of the indigenous tribe I’m descendant from, the Wixárkika (Huichol) people of Mexico. We are known throughout the world for our ceremonial use of peyote. I am a Wixarika/Native/ Mexican-American woman of color that resides in California and Mexico, and serve on the board of directors of Decriminalize Nature.
