Reaching out in the world in 2 directions Steve has been a Medical Massage therapist and Strength and conditioning Coach for 25 years. Mixing the art of medicine and the Medicine of Art is his life long quest. Although he has been sculpting stone for 16 years, Steve is a late bloomer in the world of Art. He was first
introduced to the medium in 2001 by a Cherokee shaman he met that year. Steve was impressed by the
attention to detail and was influenced by it in his own work. With mentoring, he began to carve. Around 2002-3
Steve sought and found gallery notice at Multitudes Gallery in Blue Ridge,Ga. and 20th Century Art and Antiques
of Atlanta, Ga..
In 2003 Steve was featured in “MountainLife” magazine for his hand carved stone jewelry and sculpture.
His work was beginning to sell. He decided to move to Taos, N.M., which at the time was considered a major art
mecca. There his work was accepted in galleries and did sell. The sheer number and talent of sculptors in Taos,
further honed Steve’s ability and vision. After about 12 years of hard work, Steve finally had work accepted on
Canyon Rd. in Santa Fe, N.M. in the El Farol Galleria.
Steve’s work has moved between the representative and contemporary genres, seeking a blend between
nature and human concept. Steve’s realized mission is to provide contemporary works which blur the lines
between socio-spiritual subject matter, provoking questions beyond the work’s visual impact. www.wordpress.com/Moldavite111
