I was born into a family of doctors, in a city where being successful was either being an engineer or a doctor.
I had an affinity towards arts, technology, computers, video games, music, and problem solving. I chose to mix engineering with biology and pursue a career in biotechnology at a very young age. My options were very limited.
Halfway through college when I was pursuing engineering in biotechnology, I suddenly questioned:
Who am I?
Where am I?
What am I? and most importantly
Why am I?
An year after pursuing research in a US based pharma company, I was at crossroads.
Do I go further in biotech? - The path of lifelong research.
Do I pursue an MBA? - The most convenient path to make a career.
Do I find jobs and get experience? - I did, but didn't find it fulfilling.
Do I travel and figure out the who/why/where/what questions again? - I did and it helped me become who I am today.
I backpacked through India for a couple of years, chasing stars and capturing the night-lights through my lens. I made a short film that got acknowledged at a few film festivals.
I volunteered as a teacher in a village lost in time.
The people of Turtuk (Ladakh) slept in Pakistan and woke up in India.
After 40 years we were amongst a very few selective civilians who got an opportunity to go there and help educate the children of Turtuk.
I taught them Chemistry, Biology, Geography, Music and a few life lessons that I had learnt.
While I was travelling:
I became a storyteller.
I became a teacher.
I became a filmmaker.
I became a photographer.
I became a biker.
I became a stargazer.
I became a lover.
I became much more than I could have ever fathomed I could be.
Later after coming back to civilization, I realized the world is like a video game, and I'd rather play it on my own terms.
I became an entrepreneur.
Since past 6 years I have been leading Expedify formerly known as Brainpan.
