It was my weakest moment – when I realized I was under the complete control of others.
I was working as a carer at care home and had gone to my manager to ask for some free time to go on a very special holiday with my family. To give some context, my family didn’t really take holidays because my husband and I were always too busy with work!

Since I’d broken my back and invested so much sweat, blood and tears for my employer, I was sure that she would grant me leave in good faith. But how shocked I was when she said that I couldn’t be given a break because other workers with families would want the same!

When I closed that day, I knew I had to change my life. After all, no one should have the power to decide your happiness! So I quit the job and went back to my first love – running a hair and beauty salon. At the start, things went well but I soon realized that too was eating up all my time. In fact, I was even busier than before – this new venture was a bigger control freak than my old job!

This time, however, I couldn’t close down the business or go back to my old job. I was confused and frustrated and I started to look for other opportunities everywhere. That’s when I got a call about this opportunity. It was 2018. The promise of more free time and better income got the better of me.

Let me tell you that I haven’t looked back since and things are only getting better in the business! In fact, my husband quit his job as a social worker and has joined the business fulltime! My sister also!

Before 2018, I had never ever even thought about earning a six-figure salary or traveling to such beautiful places as I have. The life I am now living used to be just a dream but this opportunity has made it a reality.
